Fara Homidi
Redefining Clean Beauty

Fashion and Beauty

A hint of color, a strong sense of modernity—New Yorker Fara Homidi transforms decades of experience into small discoveries for the skin. Moving between texture, nuance, and aesthetics, she has created a “slow beauty” line that makes no compromises—neither in design nor in quality. Maison Ë spoke with the make-up artist.

FARA
HOMIDI

Fara Homidi is among the most influential make-up artists of our time. With her minimalist, technically flawless style, the New Yorker has shaped runways from Hermès to Off-White as well as the pages of Vogue and Self Service. Her make-up never demands attention for itself; instead, it sets subtle, modern, and contemporary accents.

With her brand Fara Homidi Beauty, founded in 2023, Homidi translates decades of experience into a new era of “slow beauty”—highly effective vegan formulations, iconic textures, and refillable objects that unite luxury and sustainability. From complexion hybrids such as the Essential Face Compact to innovative lip duos, each product expresses her philosophy, placing skin perfection, color depth, and uncompromising quality at the center.

This is a brand that is more than just make-up. It is an experience—an invitation to rediscover beauty: minimalist, luxurious, and conscious. A moment that moves between nostalgia and discovery—like an old photograph you love to look at again and again, familiar yet full of new stories.

Maison Ë How has your creative work changed since launching your own brand?
Fara Homidi My style hasn’t changed, but by developing my own formulas, I finally have access on set and backstage to the textures, finishes, and shades I’ve always wanted. This allows me to realize my signature looks perfectly.

M.Ë What inspired you to found your own make-up brand?
F.H. After more than 25 years of experience as a make-up artist, I felt ready to bring my own formulations into the world. I wanted to create something that speaks to people who value quality and expertise. The collection is a fusion of my experience, my convictions, and what I have always searched for—but have never found—in the industry: clean formulations and conscious packaging that make no compromises in terms of quality and design, while including all skin tones.

M.Ë Do you have something like a color philosophy?
F.H. I don’t believe in rigid rules when it comes to color palettes. My philosophy for the complexion is that undertones should look as real and natural as possible—whether warm, cool, or olive. When it comes to expression, however, there are no limits. A gray eyeshadow may not seem classically beautiful, but it might convey exactly the mood one wants to express. If so, go for it.

M.Ë You mentioned the importance of packaging—how do you approach it?
F.H. I’m a modernist, so from the beginning I knew the packaging had to feel both modern and timeless. I was inspired by the glossy lacquer of sports cars and their high-quality craftsmanship. The packaging colors were also very important to me and a personal concern—this is why I chose Fara Homidi blue, my favorite color. Soft, rounded shapes also make me happy. In addition, it was essential for me that the packaging be designed to be sustainable and circular.

M.Ë What vision do you have for the future of your brand?
F.H. In short: global expansion. But the real future lies in continuously working on innovation—whether through new formulations, colors, textures, or packaging. Reinterpreting classics again and again while simultaneously creating new categories: that is my goal.

M.Ë If your brand were a feeling, what would it feel like?
F.H. It would be a mix of nostalgia and discovery: something familiar that you’ve seen before, yet in an exciting new context. It’s similar to looking at a photo of your mother in her youth—a spontaneous moment in which she is completely herself, full of life and laughter. Her face is familiar, the moment authentic. Fara Homidi Beauty is a brand where comfort meets innovation.
